“Unqueering the Archive and Other Thoughts on Visibility,” will touch on the art and research completed by Ryan Aasen as artist-in-residence in Triangle. Part artist talk, part lecture, part speculation, and part lies, this event will touch on intersecting socio-technical systems across photography, artificial intelligence, identity, privacy, and class structure, while thinking about their potential pasts and futures.

Ryan Aasen is an artist, researcher, and educator based in New York City. He was an artist-in-residence at Triangle, an MIT Transmedia Storytelling Initiative fellow, a Northern Lights.mn Art(its) on the Verge fellow, and his work has been exhibited internationally. He is currently a visiting lecturer in the Art, Culture, and Technology program at MIT.
